Quick Tour of JASPER
We walked in off the street for a tour of Jasper Engines & Transmissions and thought it was great. Bob gave us a private tour almost immediately and was very knowledgeable about what was happening across the whole business. He showed us the co-generation aspect of the place, which was pretty neat. They produce and use their own electricity, compressed air, and heat from the engine exhaust. He didn't hesitate to show us the sections where they deal with issues, try to learn why a problem exists, and figure out how they can keep it from happening again. It's obvious throughout the factory that they care about quality and improving. It was interesting to see how they use their team cells to do their work. You can see that nothing goes to waste throughout, they even use ground up bottle caps to bead blast parts.
